Brief description

I am a historian of technology and environmental historian who is interested, most broadly, in the complex dynamics among people, the environment, and technology over time.  My previous and current research focus on the history and politics of water management, especially in 20th-century France and the French empire.  I also teach a survey course in environmental ethics, which addresses some of the ethical dimensions of climate change, and a senior seminar on environmental history.
